Every spark starts something.

A spark of an idea. A spark of confidence. A spark of connection with the person beside you. At Art Sparks Wales, we create the space for those sparks to grow.

We bring high-quality, accessible art workshops and classes to people of all ages across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, from drop-in taster sessions and themed short courses to family workshops and wellbeing-focused groups for older adults and carers.

We’re educators first, not event organisers.

Founders Eve Oliver, Sarah Deasy and Kelly Holloway have spent their careers teaching art.

That experience shapes everything we do: how we design our sessions, how we welcome people in, and how we create spaces where everyone feels comfortable having a go.

Our approach is simple

Create

Everyone is capable of making art. We remove the barriers of skill, confidence and cost that can so often stop people from giving it a go.

Connect

Our workshops are social spaces as much as creative ones. The conversations, friendships and sense of belonging that grow around the table matter just as much as what ends up on the page.

Explore

We create welcoming spaces to try something new, experiment and see where your ideas take you. There’s no pressure to be “good at art”, just the chance to get stuck in, have fun and discover what you can do.

Art Sparks Wales is rooted in the communities we work with, creating opportunities for people to create, connect and explore, with lots of fun along the way.

Who we are

We’re three art teachers, three friends and three people who believe making things can bring a little more creativity, connection and joy into our lives.

So we have created Art Sparks Wales: a place for playful, welcoming art workshops where you can try something new, get stuck in, make a mess, meet people and, most importantly, enjoy the process.

You don’t need to be ‘good at art’. You just need to be open to having a go.

Meet the team

Together, our experience in education shapes the thinking behind every Art Sparks session, from the activities we choose to the way each workshop is structured.

Having taught across the classroom, studio and lecture hall, we make sure every session is thoughtfully planned and carefully paced, while keeping engagement, enjoyment and creative freedom at its heart.

Great art workshops shouldn’t feel like lessons. They should feel like an invitation to have a go.

We can’t wait to share our first workshop with you. Come and find your creative spark.
